Sometimes Singer/Songwriter

Katie Buchanan is an indie-guitar pop singer/songwriter and producer in Brooklyn. She plays guitar loudly, makes a mean martini, and writes songs that beg for a second listen.

Born into a long line of musicians, Katie learned the blues by campfire and wrote her first song on her piano-tuner grandfather’s out of tune piano. Her family tree is full of St. Louis radio stars, southern railroad workers, and 1970s concert addicts. Her Baby’s First Mozart was Led Zeppelin IV.

In addition to her most recent LP about the end of the world (2023’s Bummer), Katie has released three albums and a smattering of EPs. Her songs are mainstay mood setters on various TV shows, both scripted and realty. Are You Mad Yet? (2022), was one of Ear to the Ground’s Top 10 Albums of 2022.

In their review of her 2015 debut album GLOW, No Depression raved that “artists like Katie Buchanan that renew my belief that in the right hands rock is not dead so long as it’s presented on a plate of spicy true blues tradition with just the right garnish of folk, roots, country and yes — a little electronica.”

In addition to her own music, she spends most of her creative energy as a producer for other artists. Her song-focused productions have garnered tens of million plays as she continues to build a long list of collaborators.
